From August 12th this year, Dubai residents can register to access Smart Gates by submitting passport information and getting a biometric scan of their eyes and fingerprints, this means that they can avoid long queues at customs.
Spending only 8-12 seconds passing through with a passport or Emirates ID, a QR barcode using the GDRFA DUBAI app, or a Smart Gat card. There is also a mobile registration stall in the Gold Souq Atrium at Dubai Mall, which will be in the area for a few weeks to allow residents to register at their convenience, this booth has been seen in the Mirdif World Centre along with the World Trade Centre and Dubai City Centre and has already processed hundreds of thousands of Dubai residents who have signed up for the Smart Gates scheme.
